- will perform at ZMF 2017 with Nikola Krbanyevitch as I.N.K. Experiment Duo

- marimba soloist & chamber musician
- regular performer with Kammeroper Munchen
- appeared as marimba soloist with Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (2014)
- guest professor at Heisei College of Music - Kumamoto, Japan
- 1st prize, International Marimba Competition in Paris (2004)
- fun fact: Ideta & Zeltsman commissioned/premiered Departures by Sejourne

- marimba soloist & chamber musician

- has performed recitals in over 20 countries
- Octavia Records & Sony Japan recording artist
- director, Yatsugatake Marimba Camp (Yatsugatake, Japan)
- winner, Concert Artists Guild Competition (1999)
- fun fact: was faculty at Berklee College of Music 2000-2004
- lives in Tokyo, Japan

Christos Rafalides
(R, above)
- jazz vibist, composer & arranger
- self-publishes his compositions & arrangements
- has recorded many jazz albums with Manhattan Vibes, Point Two, Joe Locke & others
- private lesson faculty, Aaron Copland School of Music of Queens College - New York
- will perform at ZMF 2017 with the Christos Rafalides Trio (with bass & drums)
- fun fact: began his studies in classical percussion at age 14
- born in Kozani, Greece; lives in New York City

- Director of Percussion, University of Miami Frost School of Music
- performed as soloist with the Chicago, Seattle, American Symphony Orchestras

- winner, Concert Artists Guild Competition (2003)
- fun fact: not afraid of colorful shoes

Mike Truesdell

- percussion & marimba solo artist & chamber musician
- Assistant Professor, University of Northern Colorado
- Adjunct Professor, Rutgers University
- DMA, The Juilliard School (2016)
- 2nd prize, Tromp International Percussion Competition (2010)
- fun fact: Mike is the son of a veterinarian & reading teacher, & brother of a big band leader

Jack Van Geem
(L, above)
- master percussionist & marimbist
- Chair of Percussion, San Francisco Conservatory of Music
- Principal Percussionist, San Francisco Symphony for 32 years (retired 2012)
- performed & recorded numerous solos and chamber works, including with San Francisco Symphony Chamber Music Series
- fun fact: Jack is a master home builder & furniture maker
- lives in Berkeley & Mendocino, California


Nancy Zeltsman (R, above)
- marimba soloist & chamber musician
- Chair of Percussion, Boston Conservatory at Berklee; Professor, Berklee College of Music
- regular guest professor, Conservatorium van Amsterdam - The Netherlands
- premiered over 125 marimba solo & chamber music works
- member, violin/marimba duo Marimolin (1985-1996 & since 2015)
- fun fact: has an unnatural zeal for organizing festivals (so said Jack Van Geem)
- born in New Jersey; lives in Boston, Massachusetts
